I have been away again,sadly no Graeter’s Ice Cream this time either. Did I tell you Graeter’s does not use Chocolate chips in their ice cream. They have a yummy chocolate formula and carefully and slowly add it to the ice cream while it is churning,of course the ice cream is cold so the chocolate hardens in lovely yummy “chocolate chips”. But I digress!

The young man above in the glasses,both the same person. My dad,the guy who can fix anything,always around when anyone calls. Well it was his turn for a few days,he needed me. He has always had a special place in my heart,like all girls are with their dad’s. We watched some TV and talked some,it was good to have some time together. Early one morning I found myself looking at him in the bright glare of the ER lights, I looked closely at my pop,laying still with his eyes closed and a tear started. My thoughts began racing, I shook my head to clear those thoughts away. Fighting the tears I finally gathered myself together,and when my eyes focused again my dad was smiling at the TV. Waving the thoughts away while sweeping back my bangs,I found us both smiling and laughing at the dopey early morning TV. He is better now,bounding thru the day with the gusto of the teenager you see above. I was blessed to build on my childhood memories,of watching football together,and not really understanding the fine points of game,and not really caring, but enjoying just being with my dad!

Well it didn't take long to break one of my new years resolutions. No I didn't eat a pint of Graeter's French pot cream,thankfully it’s only sold in Ohio :)
I vowed to visit with you several times a week. Sadly,this year has already begun to slide away from my plans and resolutions.

Now that the Thanksgiving events are behind us,Christmas festivities are just ahead.
I wanted to share a last minute idea I had on Thanksgiving,that I plan on repeating for Christmas dinner.
Stuffed celery is a tradition at most family dinners. The platter is always in the way,the celery rolls around leaving bits of cream cheese and chives,and they are difficult to hold without making a mess!
Let me Present my solution!
I filled the bottom of a tiny glass baskets with softened cream cheese and chive mixture.
Then added celery. I loved using the tender stalks leaving the beautiful leaves.
The leaves gave the look of a flower basket.
When your guest grabs a celery stalk,the cream cheese is on the end and they can continue to dip into the cream cheese because each guest has there own.
If you don’t have any tiny glass baskets,try shot glasses,vases,look around your house,always thinking outside the box!
